Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.- The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
- The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
- Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
- The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point Simplified Arabic font for articles written in Arabic and/or a 12-point Times New Roman font for articles written in English; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
- The submitted manuscript adheres to the instructions mentioned in the Author Guidelines page including the writing and document style.
- The instructions and guidelines illustrated in the Publication and Research Ethics section have been followed thoroughly.
- The submitted manuscript fulfills the specific section policies of the section you intent to submit to.
Architectural Engineering
Definition
Emphasizes the engineering aspects of the building design and construction process. This is a multidiscipline engineering approach with a focus on architecture and design. Architectural Engineering includes the design of building systems including electrical, lighting, heating/ventilation/air conditioning (HVAC), and structural systems.

Architectural History
Definition
Studies the evolution and history of architecture across the world through a consideration of various influences including artistic, cultural, political, economic, and technological.

- The scope of historical cultures is broad, so articles on any cultures are welcomed, but articles on Mesopotamian ,Arabic, Middle Eastern, and Islamic Cultures are preferred.
- Comparative analytical researches are specifically welcomed especially if it deals with the architecture of Arab or Islamic cultures.

Environmental & Sustainable Design
Definition
Emphasizes the integration of architecture with the environment to minimize the negative environmental impact of buildings by enhancing efficiency and moderation in the use of materials, energy, and development space. Deals with design that incorporates ecologically sustainable energy and waste systems; energy efficiency, renewable energy, water conservation, indoor air quality, and use of appropriate technology.

- Articles should preferably be on Environmental Design in Iraq and Middle East but research on other locations are also welcomed.
- New technologies, advanced approaches and methods are ideal topics for this section.

General Architecture: Theory, Design, Methods
Definition
Prepares one for a professional career as a design specialist or a general practitioner. Employs a range of methodologies, processes and philosophies, techniques, and technologies.

Historic Preservation and Conservation
Definition
Studies skills required to address issues relating to the restoration, rehabilitation, and adaptive use of existing buildings.

Deals with the process of creating and shaping interior space, as well as surface treatment.

- 70% of the resources used in an article should be relatively new (not more than 5 years old)

Industrial Design
Definition
An applied art whereby the aesthetics and usability of products may be improved. Design aspects specified by the industrial designer may include the overall shape of the object, the location of details with respect to one another, colors, texture, sounds, and aspects concerning the use of the product ergonomics.

Landscape Architecture
Definition
Involves the art, planning, design, management, preservation, and rehabilitation of the land and the design of human made constructs. The scope of the profession includes architectural design, site planning, estate development, environmental restoration, town or urban planning, urban design, parks and recreation planning, regional planning, and historic preservation.

Urban Design
Definition
Urban design concerns the arrangement, appearance, and functionality of urban areas within towns and cities (Generally focuses on the use of public space).

Definition
Urban planning deals with the efficient placement of land-use activities, infrastructure, and settlement growth across a large area of land, i.e. individual cities/towns to multiple countries.

- 80% of the resources used in an article, especially that refers to the main idea (novelty), should be relatively new (not more than 5 years old).
